Mikel Arteta shipped Nuno Tavares on loan after getting ‘annoyed’ at his behaviour, according to reports.
Arsenal boss Arteta is well-known for having a no nonsense approach when it comes to the attitudes of his players.
His handling of the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang situation is the prime example of this.
Arteta axed the club captain in 2021 following a string of disciplinary issues and the Gunners have not looked back since then.
Now, reports claim the Arsenal boss decided to send Tavares on loan to Marseille when the full-back became a nuisance.
French newspaper L’Equipe report that Arteta and his staff were ‘often annoyed with his behaviour’ and is the reason for his loan.
The report also adds that Tavares ‘sometimes seemed lost on the pitch’ during his time at Marseille.
It has been a rollercoaster time in France for the 23-year-old, who has scored an incredible six times in Ligue 1 already this season.

He has been reprimanded by the club for a recent red card against Monpellier, while he struggled in Marseille’s 3-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.
There is hope he can revive his Arsenal career, however, as the Gunners did not want to include an option to buy in the loan deal.
As it stands he will return to the Emirates in the summer and may be battling Oleksandr Zinchenko for a place with Kieran Tierney rumoured to be on his way out.
The Scotland international joined in 2019, but has had to become used to the substitute’s bench this season and has been linked with Newcastle.
